Congratulations to Micah Nobriga-Ferris on being named the Swimmer of the Meet by Mokihana Aquatics Coach Orlando “O” Anaya following the two-day timed trials, Sunday.
Coach O said there were a lot of good swimmers and good races (you should have seen the Kayla Ishida and Kaitlyn Jarry matchup in the Girls 100 Open Butterfly), but in the end, Micah ends up with the award, his second this year.
If you’re looking for a Christmas tree, Mokihana Aquatics is taking orders for delivery around the Dec. 3 weekend. Visit www.mokihanaaquatics.com for more information.
Mahalo to Calvin Fukushima and Kenny Miyoshi of Masa’s Shave Ice for that milk-drizzled shave ice following the Veterans Day Parade, Saturday. That was the first time Calvin has been seen cranking out shave ice, but it sure hit the spot.
Hats off to Bill Honjiyo and his Kaua‘i Veterans Council committee on a great parade, and retired General Myron Dobashi did the honors as reviewing officer.
OK, so tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery is the annual Veterans Day Service. Don’t be late.
