WAILUA – A 68-year-old Princeville resident who was reported missing Monday night after relatives had not heard from him for three days was found without significant injuries Tuesday afternoon, county officials said. The man was found at approximately 3:45 p.m.
WAILUA – A 68-year-old Princeville resident who was reported missing Monday night after relatives had not heard from him for three days was found without significant injuries Tuesday afternoon, county officials said.
The man was found at approximately 3:45 p.m. in a remote Wailua area following a multi-agency search. He was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
Roughly 28 personnel representing four agencies were involved in the search operation including: the Kaua‘i Police Department; Kaua‘i Fire Department; state Department of Land and Natural Resources – Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement, and Kaua‘i Search and Rescue canine units.
The search began at around 8:30 a.m. involving ground and aerial searches in the wilderness above Loop Road in Wailua Homesteads and continued through the afternoon.
When the man was found, he was tired and dehydrated, but he didn’t suffer any significant injuries.
