Charles Hamili Jr.
Charles Kaina “Charlie” Hamili Jr. of Wahiawa, Hawai‘i, died Oct. 9, 2010, at home surrounded by family. Born on Nov. 7, 1927, in the village of Pu‘unene, Wailuku Township, Maui, Hawai‘i, he was always known as a generous, humble and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy B. Hamili; daughters Ruby A. Hamili and Liane R.H. (John) Baker; son Leon C. (Rebecca) Hamili; hanai daughters Sandi Angevine, Sabrina McKenna and Diane Ho; grandchildren Ryan K.K. Hamili, Toni N. (Kris) Moniz, Chenoa M.H. Baker, Titania M.H. (Keali‘ikai Nikaido) Baker; great-grandchildren Kristeen Moniz, Ethan Moniz, Malia K.K. Hamili, Maile M.K. Hamili, Sophia M. Nikaido; and sister Elaine Hauanio.
Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4, at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation starts at 9 a.m., services at 11 a.m., and burial to follow at Schofield Barracks Army Post, Schofield Veterans Cemetery, Lyman Road.
The family requests aloha or casual attire. Flowers are welcomed.
John Blaine Sr.
John “JB” Blaine Sr. of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 13, 2010, at age 60. Born in Dover, N.J., on April 9, 1950, he retired from the State of Hawai‘i as a sergeant with the Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center.
He is survived by his wife, Visitacion Blaine; son, John (Michelle Galvez) Blaine Jr.; daughter, Lisa Ann Blaine, all of Kapa‘a; three grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30, at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Blaine family with arrangements.
