Dorothy Johnson
Dorothy Johnson of Lihu‘e and formerly of Clearlake, Calif., died Oct. 2, 2010, at age 90. Born Feb. 14, 1920, she was a homemaker and known to her grandchildren as “Granny Goose.”
Preceded in death by husbands Kenneth Smith and Don Johnson, she is survived by daughter Sharron (Jack) Lucich of California; sons, Kenneth (Deborah), Larry (Sue) and Rob (Kim), all of California, and Randy (Jill) of Kilauea; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Johnson family with arrangements.
Irene Carter
Irene Carter of Lihu‘e died Oct. 6, 2010, at her home in Lihu‘e at the age of 69. Born on Jan. 16, 1941, she was a retired bookkeeper.
Preceded in death by husband Ashley Carter, parents Mariano and Eulalia Lahip and sister Mercy Honorato, she is survived by five sisters: Catalina (Leandro) Agcaoili, Pauline Gonzales, Sally (Mac) Cabalo, Felipa (Faustino) Cabotaje and Marrie (Senecio) Mission; brother; Floyd Lahip, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Lihu‘e Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 10 a.m. Services will be at 11 a.m., with cremation to follow.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Anthony Viquelia
Anthony “Tony” Viquelia of Hanama‘ulu died Oct. 5, 2010, in Kapa‘a at the age of 65. He was born on Aug. 25, 1945, and was proprietor of Anthony’s Appliance Repair.
Preceded in death by his dad, Delfin Viquelia, brother Rudy Viquelia and sisters Veronica Shimatsu and Augustina “Tinay” Ebinger, he is survived by his wife, Patricia (Lorita) Viquelia; sons Conrad (Kim) Viquelia and John (Belinda) Tangalin; daughters Dawn (Eli) Eddings, Tammy (Todd) Tangalin and Trisha (Mike Kaimi) Cruz, grandchildren Derek Michael Le, Jamie Kuilani Viquelia, Kayla Kiana Smith, Maya Lokelani Eddings, Brandon Viquelia, Ashley, Lisa, Kristina, Noah, Nicolle, Jayson, Kion, Nicolas and Jayda; mother, Juana “Jane” Hilario; brothers, Val “Tetang” (Mildred Dunn) Hobayan, Albert “Betoy” (Sandy) Hobayan, Stanley (Alicia) Viquelia, Jerry (Nadine) Viquelia and Donald Viquelia; sisters Josephine “Jo” “Bebang” Nunes, Anita (Robert) Salvador, Geraldine “Gerri” (Eliseo) Bolosan, Debra (Charles) Zanders, and Donna (Al) Joiner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 16, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery pavilion in Hanapepe at 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11:45 a.m., with burial to follow.
