The Kaua‘i Historical Society celebrates Coco Palms Resort owner and manager Grace Guslander (pictured at left with Duke Kahanamoku) at its annual fundraiser 5 p.m. Oct. 23 at Smith’s Tropical Paradise in Wailua. The event includes a re-creation of a Coco Palms torchlighting ceremony, slack-key music, Hawaiian pupu and cosmopolitan dinner buffet, music and hula by Larry Rivera and family and other local musicians. Deadline for ticket reservations is Oct. 15. Tickets are $65 per person, and may be available at the door.
