Isaac “Ike” Pukawa Kekahuna died Oct. 3, 2010, in North Hawai‘i at age 75. Born on March 9, 1938, in Olowalu, Maui, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and landscaper.
He is survived by daughters, Angela (Steve) Shimizu of Waikoloa, Gay (Bill) Crawford of Kahaluu, O‘ahu, Joy (Frank) Kealoha of Kaua‘i, and Cindy (Bob) Brown of Juneau, Alaska; sons, Moses (Charmaine) Napihaa of Kailua, O‘ahu, Wayne (Robin) Napihaa of Waikoloa, Clesson (Debbie) Napihaa of Juneau, Alaska; 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are pending. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawai‘i.
Tsuruye Nishi
Tsuruye Nishi of Numila Camp died Aug. 30, 2010, at Garden Isle HealthCare at age 90. Born on June 27, 1920, in Lihu‘e, she worked at Up To Date Cleaners.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elsie Nishi.
She is survived by her husband, Shigekazu Nishi; sons, Robert (Rosemary) Nishi, James Nishi, both of Honolulu, and Wayne (Lorna) Nishi of Kapa‘a; daughter, Janet (Bob) Kagihara of Honolulu; brother, Hideo (Michie) Sasaki of Lihu‘e; sisters, Akio Matsuyama of Lihu‘e and Momoe (Raymond) Sato of Honolulu; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
John McMaster Jr.
John McMaster Jr. of Wailua Homesteads died on Sept. 23, 2010, at home at age 60. Born Aug. 4, 1950, in New Orleans, La., he was a plasterer with Local Union No. 630.
He was preceded in death by mother Ernestine Burrows and father John McMaster Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Lima McMaster; daughter, Akanesi T-Tawake; sisters, Iris Gullette, Vicki McMaster; aunt, Queen Poindexter; many nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life will be at noon, Saturday, Oct. 9, at Lydgate Beach Pavilion.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the McMaster family with arrangements.
