ANAHOLA — Three people involved in a major traffic crash Monday morning in Anahola were treated at the scene and then taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital for further treatment, a county news release states.
A 22-year-old Anahola woman was heading north on Kuhio Highway in a Nissan Pathfinder at approximately 9:03 a.m. when she clipped the pick-up truck in front of her that was making a right turn onto N. Aliomanu Road, according to a preliminary report. She then swerved into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a Toyota sedan driven by a male visitor from San Dimas, Calif.
The male visitor was in good condition Monday afternoon at Wilcox, while his wife, who was travelling with him, is in fair condition.
The Anahola woman was treated and released from Wilcox.
Following the crash, Kuhio Highway was closed for approximately two hours and traffic was re-routed to S. Aliomanu Road and Papa‘a Road.
