LIHU‘E — County officials remind the public Ulu Ko Park in Lihu‘e, off Nawiliwili Road, remains closed for ongoing park-improvement work.
The park is expected to reopen in October once the new turf grass has filled in and become established enough to withstand recreational use, a press release states. Recent improvements to the park include: fencing around the perimeter, installation of an underground irrigation system and planting of new turf grass.
The Ulu Ko Park improvements are being made by Grove Farm as a condition of a county zoning ordinance signed into law in February 2008.
