Joe Olivas has been busy photographing the different events all week and is looking forward to returning to Ahukini for fishing and lunch after Saturday.
Tracy Ogihara of Kahelelani Jewelry Design took advantage of having a craft table at the Mokihana Festival to unveil her line of earrings and necklaces that she started working on earlier this year. She plans on doing the craft-fair circuit between now and the holidays for exposure.
Derek Nishimura had a chance to return to Kaua‘i when he was part of the 20th Hawai‘i International Tropical Fruit Conference that opened Friday. Derek is now in Hilo working after his career in the guava fields.

Ken Love, the director of the Hawai‘i Tropical Fruit Growers, said he was a news hound for Associated Press for 35 years before realizing the coffee plants were disappearing. He’s had the distinction of working with people like Bobby Command (he interned here) and Baron Sekiya (one day I’m going to meet him).
