• The Saturday front-page article, “Nakamura surprises self with council showing,” should have indicated that former mayor and councilwoman JoAnn Yukimura finished in third place in the council primary election, behind Councilman Derek Kawakami (first) and Nadine Nakamura (second), with council Vice Chair Jay Furfaro ending fourth.
• In the Wednesday article “Dr. Becky leaves Kaua‘i Humane Society,” it should have stated that the Save Our Shearwaters program was established in 1978 by the state Department of Land and Natural Resources to rescue fallen Newell’s shearwaters and Hawaiian petrels due to light attraction. The program was turned over to KHS in 2005, with major funding from Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative.
