Congratulations to all the political hopefuls on the great effort for the primary election. Dee Morikawa was doing last-minute waving in Waimea, and even had time to drop in on the KIF volleyball games (congrats to coach Chad Delanoza and the Waimea girls on the first round title!).
Nadine Nakamura was out Saturday morning cheering her daughter at the KIF cross country event (we were back in Waimea), and Jay Furfaro was on the other side of the street from KipuKai Kuali‘i at the Kalaheo stop light.
Gerald Ako was at the KCC stop light Friday, and then outside the Thriftymart Bakery on Saturday (they were sold out of half moons, but the baked an pan was really good). And, he’s not even running for office!
Jimmy Tokioka spent the day cheering his son Pono at the Junior Tour Series tournament and extended his day at the Puakea Golf Course for the printouts.
Meanwhile, welcome to Kaua‘i, John Bryant of California! John follows Hawaiiana back in California and is here to take in some of the Mokihana events — especially hula! That means he’ll run into Joe Olivas who is photographing the events.
OK, time to run … Larry Richardson and the Sea Scouts are getting a proclamation for their event, Saturday.
