Benjamin Akau Sr.
Benjamin K. “Honey Boy” Kananiokalani Akau Sr. died Aug. 26, 2010, at Castle Medical Center, O‘ahu, at age 73. Born Oct. 12, 1936, in Lahaina, Maui, he was a retired bus driver for Roberts Hawai‘i Tour Co.
He was preceded in death by son Benjamin Akau Jr.; brother Lluwellyn Akau; sisters Marie Aipolani and Judith Kealoha.
He is survived by wife Debonair Akau; sons Glenn (Colette) Akau, Guy Akau, Ivan (Maria) Akau Damien D. (Kuulei) Akau Dwayne K. (Erin) Akau; daughter Dolly Anna (Edwin) Garces; brother Jordan Akau; sisters Faith Akau, Ernestine Ramos, Laverne Sanchez; daughter-in-law Yulian Akau; sister-in-law Sarah Akau of O‘ahu; brother-in-law John Aipolani of O‘ahu; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Sept. 18 at the Koloa Church, Po‘ipu Road, Koloa. Visitation is 9 to 10:45 a.m. Service is at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Koloa Church Cemetery.

Arthur Duncan Sr.
Arthur H.K. Duncan Sr. of Kapa‘a died Sept. 4, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 58. Born Jan. 31, 1952, in Honolulu, O‘ahu, he was a carpenter.
He is survived by wife Suzanne Duncan; sons Arthur (Napua) Duncan Jr. and Shane Duncan, both of Kapa‘a; daughter Marisa (Shane) Lee of Kapa‘a; mother Dorothy Duncan; brothers Gregory and Randy Duncan, both of Kahalu‘u; sisters Juanita Pahia of Maui and Cindy Bento of Kahalu‘u; 10 grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service starts at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, at Kamokila Hawaiian Village across from ‘Opaeka‘a Falls.
Family request casual attire.

Janice Hori
Janice Emiko Hori of Koloa died Sept 4, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 57. Born Oct. 27, 1952, in Lihu‘e, she was a wife, mother and aunty.
She is survived by husband Wayne M. Hori; son MacWayne Katsuichi Funamura; brother Martin (Joan) Funamura; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are private.

Alice Cummings
Alice Marie Yeomans Cummings of Puhi died Aug. 23, 2010, at home at age 45. Born Feb. 20, 1965, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by husband Wilbert Cummings Sr. of Puhi; sons Kalani Cummings of Puhi; daughters Leiala Cummings of Puhi, Sheena Millare of Lihu‘e and Jocelynea Rivera of Hilo; step-sons Wilbert (Lulu) Cummings Jr. of Puhi, Darren (Kim) Cummings of Lihu‘e and Kurt Cummings of O‘ahu; parents Toni and James Burright of Orange County, Calif.; sister Cynthia Potter of Orange County, Calif.; brother Sean Gustin of Pahoa, Hawai‘i; five grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; numerous family and friends.
Service is Saturday, Sept. 18, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Visitation is 8 to 9:45 a.m.; Mass at 10 a.m. Aloha attire.

Pia Visitacion
Pia Cadavona Visitacion died Aug. 28, 2010, at Straub Hospital at age 83. Born July 11, 1927, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired employee at Green Garden Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by husband Pedro Vistacion and daughter Trinidad Visitacion Goodrich.
She is survived by son Marcy (Dolly) Visitacion of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters Esther (Clarence) Estes of Waimea and Carmen (Roland) Rivera of Lawa‘i; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Flora Ramelb of Puhi and Melchora Balisacan of ‘Ele‘ele.
Service will be on Saturday, Sept. 25, at Holy Cross Church, Kalaheo. Visitation is 9 to 10 a.m. with Mass at 10 a.m. and burial at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Family request casual attire and flowers are accepted.

Philip Eliana Sr.
Philip Canencia Eliana Sr. of Hanama‘ulu, Kaua‘i, died Aug. 21, 2010, at The Queen’s Medical Center on O‘ahu at age 89. Born Feb. 15, 1921, in Waipahu, O‘ahu, he retired as a heavy equipment operator.
He is preceded in death by wife Trindad Eliana and son Byron Eliana.
He survived by three sons, Sterling (Gigi) Eliana of Guam, Ruben (Lita) Eliana of California and Philip (Marlene) Eliana Jr. of Kaua‘i; daughters Sheila Daluz of Colorado, Francine (Walter) Gatan of Guam and Trinette Hepa of Kaua‘i; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, at the family home, 4227 Hanama‘ulu Rd., and again from 8 to 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Immaculate Conception Church where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Robert Lee
Robert “Bobby” Kwan Tong Lee, of Honolulu died Sept. 11, 2010, at age 74. Born in Waipahu, O‘ahu on Oct. 31, 1935, he was the owner of Bob’s Mobile Car Repair and a U.S. Airforce veteran.
He is preceded in death by daughter Pamella Hickey.
He is survived by wife Betty Lee of Hawai‘i Kai; children Robert “Bobby” (Marie) Lee of Lihu‘e, John (Kathy)Newell Jr. of Missouri, Mary (Lowell) Pang of Hawai‘i Kai and Frances (Bill) Garcia of Florida; son-in-law Michael Hickey of Honolulu; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Raymond (Bernice) Lee and Wilfred (Marsha) Lee of Honolulu; and sisters Sandra (Herbert) Tanaka of Nevada and Sylvia (Arthur) Lee of Honolulu.
Visitation is 9:30 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, at Waialae Baptist Church. Service is at 10 a.m. Aloha attire suggested.
