PUHI — Engine 3 and Rescue 3 responded to a vehicle fire Monday afternoon that started in an old Dodge van parked behind FM97 in Puhi, a county news release states.
The fire spread to building materials stored nearby on several wooden pallets and scorched a 200-square-foot storage/restroom building that was located approximately 20 feet from the vehicle, the release says.
Fire officials estimate damages to the vehicle, building materials and the storage/restroom building to be around $10,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire broke out at 12:42 p.m. and was fully extinguished at 12:58 p.m., the release says. No one was injured in the fire.
