A multi-agency search had been on for about a week for a visitor reported missing Sept. 2, Nola Rebecca “Becky” Thompson, 45, whose rental car was found Thursday in the same general area where the body was located.
Police officials said positive identification of the deceased woman has not been made, and cause of death will be determined via an autopsy that by this afternoon had not yet been scheduled.
The website will be updated as necessary today, and more coverage will be in the Saturday print edition of The Garden Island. Thompson is from Santa Margarita, Ca.
