KAPA‘A — Jeni Kaohelauli‘i of Work It Out is glad the fever for the second annual Kaua‘i Marathon is still burning.
“You should have been here when we opened at 10 a.m.,” she said. “There were a lot of people waiting for us to open.”
Work It Out hosted a Pau Party where finishers of the Kaua‘i Marathon could bring their finisher shirts and receive a free swag bag Monday.
“There were a lot of people from the Mainland who had their shirts,” Kaohelauli‘i said. “But we also had a good number of local residents who were up early as well.”
Kaohelauli‘i recruited the help of Paul Vaughn of Honolulu to help with the Kaua‘i Marathon.
Vaughn joined the owner of the local active lifestyle shop at the two-day Health and Fitness Expo that preceded the marathon in Po‘ipu. On marathon day, Vaughn said he was helping Kaohelauli‘i at a Gu aid station before spending a few hours at the Kapa‘a store prior to leaving for Honolulu.
She said because of the success of the Pau Party, Work It Out is planning a trunk party the week before Black Friday, the Friday following Thanksgiving.
Vaughn represents Phiten products which were on display at the expo and attracted a steady stream of interested athletes as well as neighboring vendors.
“If you have stress or pain, it’s usually because the body’s electrical energy is blocked,” Vaughn said.
The pain or stress is caused by the body reacting to the blockage and its attempt at trying to restore the flow of bio-energy, he said.
Injury, fatigue and low oxygen levels hurt the efficiency of a body’s cells, disrupting the normal flow of energy in the system. In response, the body increases the tension and fatigue as it tries to compensate for the lost energy, a flier available at Work It Out states.
At the core of the Phiten product line is technology labeled the Phild Process where titanium, normally undissolvable in liquid, has been dissolved in water and used to produce the variety of products in the Phiten line.
This process is known as Aqua-Titanium and can be absorbed into material similar to dyes. The resulting product cannot be washed out or fade away and forms the base for the Phiten line of necklaces, bracelets and body support clothing including socks, wristbands, waist bands, knee, elbow, arm and leg supports.
The Aqua-Titanium emits energy that effectively controls a body’s bio-electric current, states the flier.
These form the stabilizing process known as the Energy Transport System which stabilizes the body’s energy, permitting a greater flow of energy with less waste.
“I’ve been using it for four, or five years,” Kaohelauli‘i said. “I wanted this as part of the shop before I opened.”
Vaughn said while the products are available at stores around Kaua‘i, Work It Out is the primary outlet for the Phiten line of products.
