Roger Davidson
Roger Earl Davidson of Lihu‘e died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Aug. 22, 2010 at age 89. Born on Feb. 11, 1921 in Los Angeles, he was a retired engineer at Southern California Gas Company.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Ellen) Davidson of Wyoming, Judith (Michael Wells) Davidson of Moloa‘a and Jeff (Tracy) Davidson of Lihu‘e; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are private.

Abel Souza Sr.
Abel John Souza Sr. of Kapa‘a died July 30, 2010, at his home at age 65. Born on April 11, 1945, in O‘ahu, he was a retired foreman with ‘Aina Site Construction.
He is survived by his wife Marlyn “Hoku” Souza of Kapa‘a; son Abel (Vanessa) Souza Jr.; daughters Michelle (Matt) Reis, Kimberly Souza and Brenda Souza, all of Kapa‘a; stepsons Sonny (Lopeka) Kelekoma of Wai‘anae and Shawn Kelekoma of Kapa‘a; stepdaughters Shantel “Telly” Kelekoma and Sharnal “Naka” Kelekoma of Kapa‘a; brother Bernard (Sally) Ancheta of California; sister Ramona (Jim) Yang of California; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., service to follow, on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel. Burial at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Family suggests casual or aloha attire.

Samuel Peters
Samuel “Uncle Buddy” Lani Peters died on Aug. 19, 2010 at his residence in Kapa‘a at age 67. Born on January 12, 1943 in Honolulu, he was a drywaller and business owner of Wailua Kayak & Canoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Peters, and sister Eloise Oclit.
He is survived by his wife Catherine Peters of Kapa‘a; sister Kulamanu Thaxton of Anahola; daughters Tammy Toban, Denise “Tita” Kauihou, KulaManu (T.J.) Marshman, Ka‘iulani (Bronson) Lovell; hanai daughter Keahi Verdusco; hanai son Nakana Duarte; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Celebration of life Saturday, Sept. 18.

Mele Pulu
Mele Tangikiama Pulu of Lihu‘e died at home on Aug. 18, 2010 at age 57. Born on May 10, 1953 in Malapo, Tonga, she was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawai‘i and Tonga.
She is survived by her husband, Sosaia Viliami Pulu of Kaua‘i; children Luisa (Aleli) Aleli of Maui, Fehikitaki (Salesi) Maile of Kaua‘i and Sione F. (Dorian) Pulu of Texas; grandchildren Vaivevea L. Pulu, Beatrice T. Pulu and Sosaia V. Pulu Jr.; brothers Samuela (Latu) Hafoka, Siale (Matafolau) Hafoka, Takapautolo (Seletute) Hafoka, Sioele (Malia) Hafoka, Sione Vaikoula (Norma) Hafoka and Semisi (Nanise) Hafoka; sister Sesi (Lopeti) Oufiu, many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lahaina Ward 2. Visitation will continue 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the church. Burial 10:30 a.m. at the Maui Memorial Park.
