Andrew Sun, Nancy Soares, Cathy Fernandez and Cereal Fernandez of Team Aikane took first-place honors at the Kaua‘i Senior Bowling league’s awards luncheon at the Lihu‘e Bowling Center. Awards were distributed to the top three finishers in six different men’s and women’s categories. Top women’s prizes were given to Lourdes Carlos (high handicap series — 727; most improved bowler — 15.21), Anna Rita (high scratch series — 557; highest average — 159), Leonora Galindo (high handicap game — 282) and Lynn Bukoski (high scratch game — 213). Men’s top awards went to Kaleo Furtado (high handicap series — 769), Bernie Wise (high scratch series — 682; highest average — 196), Wally Shafer (high handicap game — 301), Joe Young (high scratch game — 264) and Felipe Leaden (most improved bowler — 9.64).
