Early registration for the Dennis Agena and Kalakaua Basketball Clinic will start Sept. 11 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Karen Matsumoto of the Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association said students interested in attending the popular and informative clinic should plan on registering on one of the early registration dates because the clinic often sells out.
The second early registration will take place on Sept. 18 at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon, or sooner if the spaces are filled.
The basketball clinic will be held on Oct. 2-4 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center, Matsumoto noting that this coincides with the start of the fall break for public schools.
The clinic is open to boys and girls from grades 5 through 12 and some basketball experience is recommended.
There is a $25 registration fee which covers lunch for all three days of the clinic.
Matsumoto said registering during the pre-registration will ensure the students a spot in the clinic. Additionally mail-in registrations will be accepted, but must be postmarked by Sept. 30.
Participants should bring a basketball, basketball shoes and appropriate attire which includes shorts and a t-shirt or tank top.
The clinic is being sponsored by the KYBA and the County of Kaua‘i.
