The crew aboard Hokualele made the open ocean voyage from Hanalei to Kekaha in 4:41:37 with the Kaiola Open No. 1 team aboard Hihimanu beaching about three minutes later for second place.
But the race for second place was tight between another Kaiola crew, the Master 40 team, that crossed the line just three seconds back at 4:44:55 for third place overall.
Kukui‘ula’s Open crew aboard Keoniloa paddled to a fourth finish overall in the Open division at 4:49:19 followed by Hanohano taking fifth place aboard Kukui O Keokeo O Wailua at 4:52:42.
Hanalei placed its Open No. 1 crew aboard Hili Maumau in sixth place on a 4:58:38 paddle followed by Namolokama’s Masters 50, No. 1 team landing Kamakani Eleu at 5:00:10.
A San Francisco Open team filled in seventh place aboard Naia UliUli just about a minute back, stopping the clocks at 5:01:20 followed by a combined Niumalu-Kilohana Open No. 2 team aboard Alapai stopping the clock at 5:03:35 for eighth place.
Na Pali Challenge 2010 featured outrigger canoe paddling teams from Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, California, Arizona and Washington state working the ocean around Na Pali.
