On July 20, 2010 at 12:45 p.m., Jasmine Kainoa Chandler Forrest died July 20, 2010, at 12:45 p.m., at her home, after her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends as she left on her final journey to meet her Father in heaven. Born on May 14, 1964, the tenth of fifteen children, she dedicated her life to the perpetuation of her Hawaiian heritage through the Hanalei Hawaiian Civic And Canoe Club. Her goal in life was to always make things better than they were, especially in her community. She was a loving spouse, mother, sister, aunty, cousin and coach whose love for the ocean was only exceeded by her love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her father Francis Chandler; mother Elizabeth “Kapeka” Mahuiki Chandler; nephew Lokomaika‘i “Kai” Chandler; and brother William Chandler.
She is survived by her husband Ralph Arthur Forrest Jr.; children Lilinoe ‘Elikapeka Forrest, Chandler Arthur Pomaika‘i Seneca Forrest, Devin Christopher Kamealoha Forrest, Wai‘oli Darren Angelo Forrest and Kailoa Ho‘okele Judd Forrest; siblings Juanita Chandler Montanez, Bethan Pualani Fatima (Robert) Baptista, Francis Elias (Rhoda) Chandler Jr., Lawrence La‘amaikahiki (Amie) Chandler, Kirkland (Hilary) Chandler, Aloysius Kahimoku (Nancy) Chandler, Jeffery (Linda) Chandler, Germaine “Venna” Gerard Chandler, Colan Chad “Toleto” (Coty) Chandler, Belinda Mary Nohealani (Tita Iwa) Chandler, Silas Paul “Pa‘ula” Chandler, Rachel Keikila‘auowakanahele (Jack) Correa, Conrad Hokolani (Thomas) Chandler and Ruth “Luka” Naomi Chandler; numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
Memorial service at 8 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., on Aug. 13, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Hanalei.

Mitsuyoshi Yamamoto
Mitsuyoshi Yamamoto of Hanapepe died July 30, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 87.
Born on April 17, 1923, in Makaweli, Kaua‘i, he was a field supervisor with Olokele Sugar Co.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Tadayoshi, Mutsuo and Kazuo Yamamoto.
He is survived by his wife Fusae; son Glenn (Kathleen) Yamamoto of Hanapepe Heights; two grandchildren; brothers Sutemi (Dora) Yamamoto and Masaaki (Chiyeko) Yamamoto both of Hanapepe Heights; sister Sumiko (Sam) Motoike of Stockton, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Yoshie Yamamoto, Helen Yamamoto and Betty Yamamoto.
Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
