Hats off to Coach Orlando “O” Anaya and all of the Mokihana Aquatics supporters and swimmers on a great Lollipop Meet! Nalani Brun was waiting on her sister to get the burgers started.
On the other side of the island, where was Kenny Ishii? Pat Finberg (JK was looking for her for permission to set up the videocam), Manea and all of the Heiva I Kaua‘i Committee did a great job on the two-day event (Black Cherry soda?)!
Mike Teruya and Steve Read are perennial photographers at the event, and this year, there was a bumper crop of cameras ranging from Rebels to high-end Canon and Nikons. Oregonian Jan Bateman even squeezed in the Sunday event after taking in the sand castles in Hanalei. She was getting tips on photographing Hawaiian birds from Mike.
Great job to Raymond Duarte on the sounds and it was definitely an event because Ray Carpenter was there!
