Magdalena Renti Cruz
Magdalena Renti Cruz of Kekaha died July 15, 2010, at her home at age 84.
Born on March 9, 1926, in Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i, she was a retired supervisor with the Pacific Missile Range Facility.
She was preceded in death by her parents Felix and Severina Sabado; husband Prudencio Renti Cruz Sr.; and sons Jeffrey and Felix Renti Cruz.
She is survived by her sons Prudencio (Helene) Renti Cruz Jr. of O‘ahu, and Jonathan (Noelle) Renti Cruz of Kekaha; daughters Jaqueline (James Sr.) Duvauchelle of Molokai, Darolyn Flores of Nevada, Genoveva Renti Cruz of Michigan and Crista Alegria of Guam; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Eugene Sabado of O‘ahu and Phillip (Christine) Sabado of Maui; sisters Laureta Ellis of California, Connie Damien and Anita Sabado both of Maui; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 8 to 10 a.m., Mass to follow, on Friday, Aug. 6, at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Burial to follow.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
Tamae Honda
Tamae Honda of Makaweli, Kaua‘i, died July 24, 2010, at her home at age 90. Born on Jan. 3, 1920, in Waimea, Hawai‘i, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband Satoshi Honda.
She is survived by her sons Alan (Nancy) Honda of Gardena, Calif., Alvin Honda of Lihu‘e, and Wayne (June) Honda of Torrance, Calif.; daughter Harriet (Stephen) Nitta of Kilauea, Kauai; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Ichiro Chiba of ‘Ele‘ele; sisters Haruko Kamishita and Mitsue Games both of Makaweli, Kaua‘i; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service at 4 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Waimea Shingon Mission. Interment at a later date.
Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Paulo Ramelb
Paulo Ballesteros Ramelb of ‘Ele‘ele died July 25, 2010, at Garden Isle Health Care at age 96. Born on Nov. 20, 1913, in Ilocos Norte, Baccarra, Philippines, he was a sugar processor with Olokele Sugar Plantation and Landscaper for Kaua‘i Nursery and Landscaping Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents Aniceto Ballesteros Ramelb and Gregoria Quebral Ramelb.
He is survived by his wife Felisa Ramelb; sons Paul (Lisa) Ramelb of Kapa‘a and El (Ella) Ramelb of ‘Ele‘ele; daughters Diana (Greg) Palin of University Place, Wash., Mary Ann (Ron) Jensen of University Place, Wash., and Emilia (Matt) Lei of American Samoa; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Juan Ramelb; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcome. Burial at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Hosea Lovell Jr.
Hosea Kaina Lovell Jr. of Anahola died July 23, 2010, at his home at age 84.
Born on March 15, 1926, in Anahola, he was a Veteran of World War II, the Hawai‘i National Guard and retired as the Farm Manager at the University of Hawai‘i Agricultural Experimental Station in Wailua.
He is survived by his wife Jane Lovell of Anahola; sons Solomon (Carol) Lovell of Anahola, Robely Lovell of Anahola, and Hosea Lovell IV of California; daughters Kalei (Clayton) Arinaga of Kealia, and Nalani (Summer) Kaneakua of Anahola; grandsons Shane, Bronson, Robely Jr., Mikey, Chauncey, Keoni, Nicky, Brandon, Christian Lovell and Nicholas Kaneakua; granddaughters Randi Arinaga, Kanoe Arinaga, Kapua Kaneakua, Moku Kaneakua, Althea Lovell, Leilani Marie Lovell, and Lili‘uokalani Lovell; sister Loretta White of New York; hanai brother Abraham (Doris) Lovell of Honolulu; sister-in-law Jean Ikemoto Lovell of California; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 21, at Anahola Beach Park.
Lunch to follow. Casual attire is suggested and leis are welcomed.
