Plans for the Fab 40s/Nifty 50s Football Homecoming have changed.
Because of the modification of the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation fall sports schedule, plans have been changed accordingly, said Art Fujita.
The original plan called for Kapa‘a High School classes 1946-1959 to get together for a football bash.
The event is now open to any Kapa‘a High School class member wishing to be part of the celebration, Fujita said.
Application forms are available at Pono Market in Kapa‘a and there is a deadline of Aug. 31 for submitting completed applications.
The event will have a $100 registration fee and includes an 11 a.m. school assembly and lunch on Oct. 15 followed by a 6-10 p.m. BYOB pupu party at the Wailua Houselots pavilion.
On Oct. 15, the Fab 40s/Nifty 50s Football Homecoming Bash participants will take in the Kapa‘a High School homecoming game featuring the Warriors hosting Kaua‘i High School at the New Kapa‘a Town Park stadium.
The junior varsity game kicks off at 1 p.m. followed by the varsty game squaring off at 3:30 p.m.
Following the football festivities, a participants will head to the Smith’s Tropical Paradise for a lu‘au starting at 7 p.m.
