LIHU‘E — A 45-year-old pedestrian with no permanent address suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a car while crossing Kuhio Highway in Lihu‘e last night, and was medivaced to the Queen’s Medical Center early this morning.
The man was not in a marked crosswalk.
According to a preliminary report, the man was attempting to cross Kuhio Highway in Lihu‘e at around 7:30 p.m., going from the old Oki Diner to the other side of the street, when he was hit by a silver Toyota Camry traveling north in the outer lane.
The man was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital for treatment, and was later medivaced to Queen’s hospital on O‘ahu.
