Mildred Tsuyuko Azeka of Honolulu died July 11, 2010, at Manoa Senior Care at age 86. Born on April 18, 1924, in Hanalei, she was a retired secretary with the state Department of Agriculture.
She is survived by her brothers Hiroshi Azeka of Hanalei, Itsuo (Kazuko) Azeka of Los Angeles and Clifford Azeka of Honolulu; sister Lorraine (Yoshio) Katsumoto of Honolulu; nieces and nephews.
Visitation at noon, service at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, July 27, at Kaua‘i Bible Church. Cremation to follow.
Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Melvin Iwamoto Sr.
Melvin Tadao Iwamoto Sr. of Lihu‘e died July 14, 2010, at The Queen’s Medical Center at age 73. Born on Dec. 13, 1936, on Kaua‘i, he retired from Amfac, Inc. and Kano Trucking of Honolulu.
He is survived by his wife Linda Ka‘auwai-Iwamoto; sons Melvin (Lea) Iwamoto Jr. and Kyle Iwamoto; daughter Darrah (Hiwa) Makanui; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters Elaine (Blackie) Isoda and Laurette (Norman) Kamehiro; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m., services at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 26, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church. Cremation to follow.
Family requests that flowers be omitted.
