Roy Yamakawa (Farm Fair coming Aug. 26!) spent his Friday morning taking his Trek on a maiden trip to Koke‘e. Roy was packing up after that trip at the Waimea Baseball Goodwill Tournament where David Bukoski is “Da Boss” and was chatting with coach Teddy Perreira as the games unfolded and some of the parents commented on how great the park looked.
Leah Scovel (she was among the Kukui Grove crowd, Friday, as ‘mama Scov’z’) said Red (ask her to spell her first name) Scovel, Tammy Yoshimori (related to Arlene?) and Kiki Pagador (gotta be related to the Kaua‘i High School third baseman) were playing with the Kalawai Broncos at this tournament, too.
Art Umezu was busy coordinating the first anniversary of The Jam Room with Daphne Sanchez and Jonell Kaohelaulii.
Ernie Domingo had his whole ‘ohana (some from as far away as Georgia) to join the crowd listening to The Starlighters (where are the election hopefuls?), Friday night.
Wayne Miyata was there because son Hiro was asked to play trumpet for the group, and Dennis Haack had his whole family back doing The Starlighters thing as well.
