Karen Ono could not resist the aroma of cooking malasada while waiting on the flatbed truck to arrive for the Kaua‘i Board of Realtors school supplies purchase, Friday, at the Big Kmart store.
Marlena Bunao said Karen had to wait until she fixed up a batch for the Kmart shuttle driver’s daily fix, but that took only a little while. Ron Clark also had to wait until the supplies were loaded so he could move his bus into place for shuttling passengers to Nawiliwili Harbor.
Sandy Higa took advantage of the wait to remind people the deadline for entering the Kmart fishing contest is July 16 and the weigh-in is July 18 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Mahalo to Sue Boynton, Mary Williamson, Sandy Brody (he’s Lex Brodie’s son) and all the other helpful people at the Kaua‘i Stage Race. The weather was perfect and Dr. Lloyd Fujimoto could break out of his schedule for some shots at the Criterion event as well.
Hats off to Anthony Lopez on his ambitious Eagle project undertaking! Scoutmaster Lyle Tabata said when Troop 148 does projects, it’s always big, and Westside Basketball coach Dino Pabre recognized several students from summer school.
