Kaua‘i Police Department Chief Darryl Perry will be cycling in the Kaua‘i Stage Race starting this morning. Diana Simao invited Chief Perry and his wife Solette to attend the Contractors Association of Kaua‘i annual scholarship dinner, Thursday at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort.
Congratulations to all the scholarship recipients and kudos to those families who continue the legacy of their loved ones by establishing scholarships so the young people can continue to pursue their dreams.
Bill Dahle always does a great job as master of ceremonies at the CAK events, and after Kayla Rosenfeld’s presentation Wednesday, it was hard to not see the mark-ups on copy as Bill spoke. Rosenfeld is news director of Hawai‘i Public Radio, and visited The Garden Island’s weekly news meeting in search of radio correspondents.
Coach Abe Kuhaulua is still high on the Kawaihau Majors All Stars District 1 championship. Abe was at the title match for the KYBA Boys Under 14 match, Thursday along with Chaz Pacleb (his mom did his fancy hair), who hit the game-winning home run Wednesday.
