LIHU‘E — Members of the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol Kaua‘i Composite Squadron were the honor guard at the Fourth of July drag races at Kaua‘i Raceway Park in Mana.
The CAP gives many opportunities to young cadets like these, states a press release.
In addition to participating in parades and other community functions, cadets have the chance to fly airplanes and gliders, participate in leadership training, and participate in social events like camping and hiking.
They also get emergency-service training, and some get college scholarships.
Participating in Mana were Cadet Tech. Sgt. Dylan Auth, Cadet Airman First Class Christian Perdue and Cadet Airmen Lila DeTreaux and David .
Members of the color guard wanted to thank Lt. Chuck Rodriguez, deputy commander of cadets, for his hard work and dedication to the cadet program, states the release.
