PUHI — A woman died this morning in a two-car crash just west of the Anonui Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway junction, a county news release states.
The woman was heading east on Kaumuali‘i Highway at around 9:45 a.m. when she crossed the centerline and crashed into a westbound vehicle, according to a preliminary report.
The woman died at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Traffic along Kaumuali‘i Highway in the Puhi area was being re-directed to Hulemalu Road near the Kaua‘i Humane Society.
The highway was reopened around noon, the release states.
