Fred Ponte, 74, of Kekaha, shows off an aku his son Bryon, in background, estimated at about three pounds, Sunday. Ponte, who went out with Bryon on the Kai Bear, said this was the first fish he ever caught in his life. Bryon said they were going to go home and cook up the aku for Father’s Day.
