LIHU‘E — Participants in the county Summer Enrichment Program are being further enriched by free breakfasts at sites from Kekaha to Kilauea, states a county press release.
The meals are offered free of charge to all participants weekdays except county holidays now through July 23. The summer program began Monday.
Breakfast is served at these times and locations: 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the Kalaheo, Kapa‘a, Kilauea neighborhood centers and Koloa School, and from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. at the Hanapepe Recreation Center, Kekaha and Lihu‘e neighborhood centers and King Kaumuali‘i Elementary School.
Meals are provided through county Department of Parks and Recreation participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program.
Breakfast is being provided at no charge to youngsters who are participating in the county’s Summer Enrichment Program, and will be the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
No discrimination will be shown in the course of the meal service, the release states.
