Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters tend to people injured in a crash on Kaumuali‘i Highway just west of Hanapepe on Friday morning. A Koloa man, 75, who was the driver of this Dodge Caravan, apparently crossed the center line, colliding with a sedan driven by a male visitor, 27, from the Netherlands. Firefighters used the jaws of life to extricate people from both vehicles. The Koloa man was in serious condition at Wilcox Memorial Hospital Friday night, a county spokeswoman said.
