Bicyclists interested in participating in the Second Annual Kaua‘i Stage Race can visit www.active.com to register for the event, which will take place July 10 and 11.
Deadline for the website registration will close on July 7.
The Kaua‘i Stage Race consists of three phases: a Time Trial, a Criterium and a Road Race.
The Time Trials will start at 9 a.m. in Nawiliwili over a 10-lap course. In the A Heat, riders navigate 10 laps, each lap distance being 5.3 miles with a 315-foot elevation gain. B Heat riders roll for seven laps and C Heat riders travel five laps.
That phase will be followed by the Criterium held in the Vidinha Stadium parking lot where spectators, last year, were treated to a good share of excitement when afternoon showers added spice to the event.
The C Heat riders ride for 30 minutes and an additional lap starting at 3 p.m., July 10. B Heat riders ride for 45 minutes and an additional lap starting at 3:45 p.m. and the A Heat riders do a 60-minute run with an additional lap.
Sunday’s road race will be held over a scenic loop in the Puhi-Nawiliwili area with the A Heat riders starting at 7:30 a.m.
According to preliminary information, there will be five races with the Race No. 1 being Senior Men 1, 2, 3 and Master Men 1, 2, 3.
