Kaua‘i girls win state pageant titles


HONOLULU — Susan Page Modeling crowned three winners for the Miss Hawai‘i Teen Princess, Miss Hawai‘i Junior Teen Princess and Miss Hawai‘i Pre-Teen Princess pageants May 8 at the Neal Blaisdell Center Pikake Room in Honolulu.
The contestants were judged by prominent names in Hawai‘i’s entertainment and pageant industries, including Javier Sapur, Joni B. Redick-Yundt, Michael Houar, Sana-Li Dung and Dr. Julie Chang. The 28 contestants in three age divisions were judged on talent, swimsuit, judges’ interview and evening gown.
Representing Kaua‘i as state winners were Deanna Rapozo of Kaua‘i High School as Miss Hawai‘i Teen Princess, and Sydney Agudong of King Kaumauali‘i Elementary as Miss Hawai‘i Pre-Teen Princess.
Sydney also won awards for Miss Elegance, Miss Popularity, Miss Congeniality and People’s Choice Award.
Two other Kaua‘i contestants placed in the pageant: Kiana Baptiste of Island School as Miss Hawai‘i Junior Teen Princess first runner-up, and Crystal Tangalin of Kapa‘a High School as Miss Hawai‘i Teen Princess second runner-up.
