LIHU‘E — Free breakfast is being offered at Kapa‘a Elementary School to all people 18 years of age and younger Monday through Thursday from June 8 to June 30, and all weekdays except July 5 from June 30 through July 10.
Meals will be served from 9:45 a.m. to 10 a.m., states a news release from the state Department of Education School Food Services Branch.
The branch is offering the program at 68 schools across the state, but only Kapa‘a Elementary on Kaua‘i. The telephone number is 821-4424.
The Summer Food Service Program for Children (http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/summer) is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
An eligible school must have 50 percent or more of its regular enrolled students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches and some type of summer program on campus, but meal recipients do not have to be enrolled in those programs, the release states.
The Summer Food Service Program for Children is an equal opportunity program.
