Noel Brooks of Kaua‘i Orchids said there is a two-year wait if you want a Psychopsis papilio “Yellow Bird” orchid. He had one on display at the Kaua‘i Orchid Society Mother’s Day Show and Plant Sale this weekend at the Kukui Grove Center where Jonell Kaohelaulii was enjoying lunch at Times Supermarket.
Kaua‘i High School graduate Ed Fountain was wrapping up a conversation with Royden Yamamoto about setting up some University of Hawai‘i logowear at Times. Ed said they did really well during the recent Green and White game.
Al Sugano had a lot of his plants available at Kukui Grove and over at the Kaua‘i Museum, Lynn Muramoto had a first-time-for-sale “Angel” epidendrum specimen that looks real good.
Neill Sams and Brad Zacek of Orchid Alley had their hands full trying to unload the grammatophyllum with the 20 bud stalks.
And since it was Furlough Friday, Terry Maguire and Bev Pang decided it was a good time to have their cars serviced and have lunch at the Deli and Bread Connection (Don Celebrado got one of the Duke Aiona visits) while waiting on the MidPac Auto shuttle.
OK, it’s back to the grind time…
