Gordon D. Kenney, also known as Gordon Ching, of Hanalei, died April 28, 2010, at age 54.
He is survived by his daughter Natalie; mother Mary Kenney; brothers Tom of Hanalei and Charles of Hilo; sisters Ruth Conover of Hanalei, Mary Lou Drummy of San Clemente, Calif., Sandra Termin of Anaheim, Calif. and Susan McConnell of Ventura, Calif; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are pending, to be held sometime in June.
Dr. Harvey Chong Sr.
Dr. Harvey Cumming Chong Sr. of Hilo, Hawai‘i, died May 4, 2010, at his home at age 81. Born on Jan. 1, 1929, in Hilo, Hawai‘i, he was a dentist.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Chong of Hilo; daughter Mayette Mariani of Kaua‘i; son Dr. Harvey (Nancy) Chong Jr. of Hilo; daughter-in-law Sharon Ziegler-Chong of Ka‘ie‘ie, Hawai‘i; brothers Walbert (Ethel) Chong of Maui and Dr. Wallace (Nancy) Chong Jr. of Hilo; sister Phyllis (Ted) Robertson of Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren.
In accordance with Dr. Chong’s wishes, no services will be held. The family requests that no koden or flowers be sent.
Arrangements are being handled by Dodo Mortuary, Hilo.
