Congratulations to John Constantino, Nelson Batalion and all those Associated Students of the University Hawai‘i at Kaua‘i Community College (ASUH-KCC, the student government) students (they were hard at work during the Green and White game, too) on a great Earth Day 2010 event
Cammie Matsumoto said KCC Chancellor Helen Cox had to miss this event (and the culinary gala last week) since she’s been tied up with meetings on the Mainland.
Meanwhile, hats off to Chef Rafael Camarillo (his daughter plays softball for Kaua‘i High, but he was tied up with Administrative Assistants’ Day), Barbara Gusman ($20 Rotary fine for “losing” the cell phone) and Ike Cockett (he was able to juggle the KCC gala and Movie Night at the Aston Kaua‘i Beach at Makaiwa) on a great Administrative Assistants’ Day effort.
Chef Rafael said they opened up the Voyager Grill special for the day and moved up the dinner menu with some twists for those special people.
George Thronas Jr. is the new Kamehameha Day commissioner for Kaua‘i and said this year’s parade will be happening in Kapa‘a. Stay tuned for details. George is with Lae Nani and joined Gregg Enright in taking care of the Outrigger administrative assistants at the Makaiwa.
OK, ‘nuff said…time to go check out softball in Waimea.
