Junior golfers 15 and under can play free when accompanied by a paying adult at the Makai Golf Club at The St. Regis Princeville Resort.
The Troon Golf managed facility made the announcement on the heels of Troon Golf’s recent introduction of the Troon Family Golf program, states a release from Candy Aluli Public Relations.
Juniors under the Troon Family Golf program play free after 3 p.m. when playing with an adult at more than 60 Troon facilities across the country.
The Makai Golf Club in Princeville is taking the program one step further by offering free golf for juniors to age 15 at any time on any day without the 3 p.m. restriction.
Junior golfers aged 16 and 17 years old receive a 50 percent discount on green fees.
Additionally, juniors can also use complimentary Callaway rental clubs while on the course.
Each junior player must be accompanied by a paying adult. If one adult accompanies two or three juniors, one plays free and the other young players will be offered a 50 percent discount off the adult rate.
The Makai Golf Club at The St. Regis Princeville Resort is located on the North Shore of Kaua‘i and features two unique courses: the 18-hole Makai Course which reopened in January following extensive renovation, and the 9-hole Woods Course which reopened April 1.
Both courses are Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designs and new golf cart are in use for the Makai and Woods courses. The carts will be equipped with GPS by the end of this month.
Golfers on the Woods Course are also offered the option of walking the course for a more classic and traditional experience.
