KEALIA — Two women with non-life-threatening injuries and a 4-month-old baby were taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning following a traffic crash in Kealia, a county news release states.
According to a preliminary report, a 20-year-old Anahola woman was heading north in a Toyota 4-Runner on Kuhio Highway in the vicinity of the Kealia lifeguard tower at around 9:05 a.m. when she crossed the centerline and struck a southbound Honda CRV driven by a 24-year-old Anahola woman.
Patrol officers, lifeguards and medics responded to the scene.
The infant was strapped in a car seat in the Toyota. The driver of the Honda was the sole occupant in her vehicle.
All parties were taken to Wilcox via ambulance for treatment and/or observation. The infant was subsequently released.
Following the crash, the southbound traffic was re-routed to the northbound lane, while the northbound traffic was redirected onto the beach access road.
