The University of Hawai‘i men’s volleyball team will host Pepperdine in the first round of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Warriors (18-9, 14-8) earned the tournament’s fourth seed while the Waves (16-9, 14-8) are seeded fifth.
Public sale for tickets is currently available at the SSC Box Office, through the phone sales line at 944-2697, and via the internet at HawaiiAthletics.com. Ticket prices are $12 (lower level), $10 (upper-adults), $5 (upper-student, 4-HS), and $5 (upper-UH or Pepperdine students).
Season ticket holders who reserved their seats may begin picking up their tickets at the SSC Box Office.
The last time UH hosted an MPSF first round match was in 2006 and the last time the Warriors competed in the tournament was 2007. The Warriors and Waves split their two-match series three weeks ago in Malibu, California, with each team winning in straight sets. Pepperdine leads the overall series 38-23.
The MPSF Championships is April 29 and May 1 at the highest remaining seed following Saturday’s first round matches. Stanford is the tournament’s No. 1 seed after capturing the regular-season title with a 16-6 league mark and will host eighth-seeded UC Irvine. Second-seeded BYU will host seventh-seeded UCLA and third-seeded Cal State Northridge hosts sixth-seeded USC.
