Rachel Poe-Heath
Rachel “Aunty Rachel” Poe-Heath of Anahola died April 17, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 70. Born on Dec. 28, 1939, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert “Bunky” Heath, brother Delnor Ikalani Sr. and father Isaac Poe Sr.
She is survived by her daughters Kalei (Chad) Kahaulua and Alberta (George Keala) Heath; brother Isaac (Barbara) Poe Jr.; sisters Alice Panui, Mamo Arruda, Lina (Frank) Alensonorin, Kuulei Heffner, Hannah (David) Peters and Willien Kapihe; hanai sister Donna (Stanley) Goo; and six grandchildren.
Celebration of life at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, at Aunty Rachel’s hale in Anahola.

Stanley Kanahele
Stanley Kaohu Kanahele of Pukaiki, Ni‘ihau, died April 15, 2010, at his home in Kaumakani at age 50. He was born on June 22, 1959, in Waimea, Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Kanahele.
He is survived by his son Stanley (Cherrie) Kanahele Jr. of Ka‘awani; daughters Susan, Jessica and Tayzhany all of Kaumakani; two grandchildren; stepson Samson Sutton of Kaumakani; stepdaughter Nani (Michael) Jean of Hanapepe and Gwendolyn (Augustine) Weino of Kalaheo; brothers Malaki (Sandy) of ‘Ele‘ele, Kuuwehi of Kekaha and Kalana (Ella) of Kekaha; sisters Lama Minoaka and Katherine all of Kekaha.
Visitation and service from 10 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 24, at Garden Island Mortuary.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcome.

Imelda Aguda
Imelda Labrador Aguda of Kaumakani died April 16, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 42. Born on Jan. 23, 1968, in Lihu‘e, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her daughters Imee Aguda and Rogina Aguda; and mother Adarlina Cabanatan.
She is survived by her husband Roger Aguda of Kaumakani; sons Ray Rex (Maria Richelle Udaundo) Labrador of Kapa‘a, Roger Aguda Jr. and Reggie Aguda both of Kaumakani; father Christian Labrador of Puhi; stepfather Francisco Cabanatan of Puhi; brothers Roy (Charnette) Labrador of Las Vegas and Jason Labrador of Puhi; sisters Jusefine (Jonathan Burger) Alop of Wailua, Joanne (Chris) Labrador of Puhi and Jerilyn Labrador of Puhi; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., service at 3 p.m., on Sunday, April 25, at ‘Ele‘ele Episcopal Church. Burial at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Paul Akama
Paul Takumi Akama of Lihu‘e died April 17, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 84. Born on April 21, 1925, in Lihu‘e, he retired from the Department of Motor Vehicle Registration with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by his wife Betsy Akama of Lihu‘e; children David (Evonne) Akama of Lihu‘e, Edythe (Rodney) Maeda of Kona, Lance (Ann) Akama of Lihu‘e, Alan Akama of Lihu‘e, Michael (Gina) Akama of Lihu‘e and Kenneth Akama of New York; mother Umeyo Akama of Wailua Houselots; sister Ruth (Stanley) Wakayama of Wailua Houselots; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation at 3 p.m., service at 4 p.m., on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Lihu‘e Christian Church.
Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Alfred Mori
Alfred S. Mori of Kapa‘a died April 2, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 90. Born on Feb. 26, 1920, in Kapa‘a, he was a building and grounds superintendent with the State of Hawai‘i.
He was preceded in death by his parents Naohiko and Kijui Mori; brother John Mori; sisters Elsie Masunaga, Grace Honda and Shizue Tateyama.
He is survived by his wife Yoshiko; daughter Alta Shigeta of Silverdale, Wash.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Dr. Albert Mori of Kapa‘a and Kenneth Mori of Lodi, Cali.; and sister Barbara Won of Federal Way, Wash.
Services were held at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Keli‘i Shigematsu
Keli‘i “Shige” Nigel Shigematsu of Kekaha died April 15, 2010, in Lihu‘e, at age 17. Born on Nov. 23, 1992, in Lihu‘e, he was a student at Waimea High School.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandma Patsy Shigematsu.
He is survived by his father Kent Shigematsu of Kekaha; mother Joni Shigematsu of Kekaha; brother Keonimana Shigematsu of Kekaha; sister Li’a Shigematsu of Kekaha; paternal grandfather Jenichi Shigematsu of Koloa; maternal grandfather Willie Martin of Kekaha; maternal grandmother Marcia Martin of Kekaha; paternal great-grandmother Masei Higa of Lihu‘e; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Visitation from 1 to 3:30 p.m., service at 4 p.m., on Friday, April 23, at St. Theresa’s Church Kekaha. Officiated by Father Danilo Galang M.S. Burial at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Craig Beaver
Craig Beaver died April 3, 2010. Born on July 16, 1957, in Santa Monica, Calif., he worked for the Santa Cruz police department and was a teacher at Kekaha School.
He was preceded in death by his father Lee Beaver.
He is survived by his wife Aurora, son Bryce, daughter Kristen, mother Elsye, brother Eric, sister Janet and uncle Larry.
Visitation and service at 9 a.m., on Saturday, May 1, at Westside Christian Church in Kekaha. Light pupus after the service. Celebration of life at noon, at Queen’s Pond.
Lloyd Hamamura
Lloyd “Hama” Harumi Hamamura of Koloa died April 5, 2010, at Straub Hospital at age 64. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired mechanic for the County of Kaua‘i Department of Water, and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Estelle “Miki”; son Jaxon; daughters Janel (Ross) Ruiz and Jolene; hanai daughter Nani (Springy) Kaulili; brother Earl; sisters Kathleen Hee and Lenora (Reggie) Shin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunties and uncles.
Visitation at 10 a.m., memorial service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 24, at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Larry McIntosh
Larry L. McIntosh of Kapa‘a died April 15, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 67. Born on Oct. 5, 1942, in Monroeville, Ind., he was a band director for Kaua‘i High School and Kaua‘i Community College.
He is survived by his wife Lauretta Cook McIntosh; daughters Traci (Luis) Alaniz, Leana Scibetta and Sydney McIntosh; son Larry Wayne McIntosh; and three grandchildren.
Celebration of life, his encore music festival, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.

Betty Jean ‘Jeannie’ Thronas
Betty Jean “Jeannie” Thronas of Kapa‘a died April 16, 2010, at Straub Hospital at age 80. She was born on Sept. 24, 1929, in Kapa‘a.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred N. Thronas; parents Manuel and Minnie Correira; brothers Joseph, Tommy and Clement Correira; sisters Mary Rapozo, Matilda Soares and Hilda Santos.
She is survived by her sons Fred (Mary) Thronas Jr. of Chamita, N.M. and Daryl (Patrice) Thronas of Kapa‘a; daughters Debra “Debbie” Lacaden, Sharon (Wayne) Inanod and Crystal (John IV) Contrades all of Kapa‘a; grandchildren Christopher (Denise) Thronas, Kevin Thronas, Aaron Thronas, Andrew (Shanna) Thronas, Shereen (Shane Agoot) Lacaden, Dereck Lacaden, Allison Lacaden, Darren Lacaden, Brad (Kendra Makanani) Inanod, Celeste Inanod, Dalton Thronas, Arrisa Thronas, John V (Lezlee Kubo) Contrades, Haylee Contrades; great-grandchildren Darius, Elijah, Myles, Shania, Andres, Sophia, Seraphina and Sabastian Thronas; Keyah-Leilani and Keane-Shane Agoot, Dereck Jr., Kaenen Lacaden, Luveahlani Lacaden and Ethan Inanod; brother William Correia and sisters Geraldine Ferreira, Sophie Soares and Agnes Cadinha; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
