HONOLULU — On April 1 at the Hawai‘i State Capitol, Rep. Mina Morita drew the winning ticket for a Kaua‘i District 14 weekend getaway which included round-trip airfare for two donated by Hawaiian Airlines, two-day car rental donated by Morita and two nights of luxurious accommodations donated by the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, a news release states.
“Given this economic downturn, the Food Banks throughout Hawai‘i are facing an increased need for their services. I really would like to thank all those who participated in this fundraising activity, especially many of our hardworking staffers at the Capitol who were so generous in their contributions,” said Morita. “With the beauty and lure of Kaua‘i it was easy to get people to participate in this fundraiser, but having the partnering with Hawaiian Airlines, the Westin Princeville and Princeville Ranch Adventures made it extra special.
The Kaua‘i Food Bank, whose mission is to provide food for the hungry; respond to emergencies and eliminate hunger, will receive $2,000.
