LIHU‘E — Sometimes, the man sent to chronicle good works actually gets in on the act.
Such was the case earlier this month with U.S. Navy Petty Officer Jay C. Pugh, mass communication specialist 2nd class and deputy public affairs officer at the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands, who went to take pictures of fellow sailors volunteering at under-construction homes at a Habitat for Humanity subdivision in ‘Ele‘ele.
Fellow Petty Officer Ryan Snay, an aviation structural mechanic, took Pugh’s camera and snapped pictures of Pugh working with Airman Miguel Barrera, an aviation structural mechanic, moving lumber at the site.
Snay, Pugh, Barrera and around a half-dozen other sailors on April 9 donated their time and skills at the Habitat for Humanity site, hanging siding, rolling vinyl flooring, and otherwise working with other volunteers, Pugh said in a press release.
Petty Officer Randy Belknap, an electronics technician second class; Petty Officer Michael Sanchez, aviation structural mechanic 2nd class; and Airman John Adam Robinson, an aviation structural mechanic, were among the PMRF volunteers, the release states.
