This was the first year Enterprise Holdings family of car rental agencies participated in the 2009 Kaua‘i United Way Annual Campaign, said Lori Almarza of the Kaua‘i United Way.
But as first-timers, the organization came through in a big way with nearly 100 percent of its employees participating and a corporate match of 50 percent.
The employees raised $4,625 and with the corporate match, the total contributed towards helping Kaua‘i’s community totaled almost $7,000.
Enterprise Holdings representatives recently invited KUW Director Scott Giarman and Campaign Coordinator Loretta Geis to their offices where the check was presented.
Among those making the gift were Mark Stein, the Kaua‘i Market Manager, Nani Workman, Administrative Supervisor for all three car rental brands, Nate Natanane, Branch Manager for Alamo Rent A Car, Sheila Balisacan, Branch Manager for National Car Rental, A.J. Youssef, Branch Manager for Enterprise Rent A Car and Ruth Naumu, the maintenance supervisor for all three car rental firms.
Almarza said Kaua‘i United Way is closing out its 2009 Campaign after contributions like Enterprise Holdings helped the campaign achieve more than 95 percent of its goal.
This year’s goal was ambitiously raised in response to the increased need in social services due to the economic response, states a release from the Kaua‘i United Way.
Kaua‘i United Way supports dozens of social service programs on Kaua‘i. These programs help save lives and benefits tens of thousands of Kaua‘i people each year.
