LIHU‘E — The Agency on Elderly Affairs has scheduled an informational meeting in Anahola regarding EnhanceFitness, a highly successful, low impact and strength training program for kupuna, 60 and older.
The meeting will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Anahola Clubhouse.
The purpose of the meeting is to gauge the interest level in starting an EnhanceFitness class in the area.
Classes are tentatively scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Anahola Clubhouse.
A minimum of 15 participants are needed to start the program, with a maximum enrollment of 22.
Currently, EnhanceFitness classes are offered at the following neighborhood centers: Kaumakani; Kekaha; Kilauea; Koloa; Lihu‘e; and Waimea.
Participants in the low impact and strength training program have reported tremendous improvements in their overall health and energy level since the program was launched in 2007.
