Put on your dancing shoes, your best outfit and leave your inhibitions at home. It’s salsa dance night, and it’s probably the most fun you’ll have on a dance floor on Kaua‘i, even (and especially) if you have no idea how to dance this popular and sensual rhythm.
Salsa is one of the easiest Latin dances, making it extremely popular and fun. Every first Saturday of each month, Aloha Beach Resort offers free classes at Kuhio Lounge, from 8:30 to 9 p.m. After that it’s time to show on the dance floor what you have learned. The fun lasts usually until midnight.

Salsa originated in Cuba, later spreading to Puerto Rico and the rest of the Caribbean Islands. It is now extremely popular throughout the world, probably because of its captivating beat and simplicity. If you know how to walk and count, then you can learn it too.
Don’t forget to include Salsa Night on your calendar next month, April 3. And if you want to learn a step or two, arrive at 8:30 p.m. The $5 cover charge has helped keep the fun going for over a year.
