1. I have not read KIUC’s Integrated Resource Plan. I have done some research on International Energy Agency and agree that wind and solar are needed. It’s too bad that the wind mills are so expensive to put them in the ocean. It would have been great to have them spread through out the islands to the north. But the solar farms are a good start to creating clean, renewable sources of energy.
2. Unfortunately, everything goes up in price. Food, utilities, housing, all are higher here than most places. I think we each have a choice to get solar for the home and a hybrid car to save on fossil fuel. KIUC gives $800 credit for solar and an interest free loan. The IRS and State offers tax credits too. There are programs for the low income people to get help with their bills.
3. If KIUC lost 30 percent revenue, it would save on expenses so the loss would not actually be 30 percent. As people retired, maybe some of the jobs would not have to be filled.
