Coach John Kaneholani had a long day, Saturday, stopping at the Eastside Family Summit (congratulations, Bridget Arume on another great event!), dropping his grandchildren off and then joining Coach Phil Baclayon for the KIF boys basketball game in Waimea.
He was so busy, he didn’t even have time to visit his neice Yukie DeSilva who was bowling in the Oompa Loompa event benefitting the Big Brothers at the Lihu‘e Bowling Center (Darryl Izumo said the PBA event is coming up in early April). Hats off to Diane Rapozo on a great job…ask Mike Murakoshi about the green hair and green whiskers.
Mason Chock of Leadership Kaua‘i was also at the Eastside Family Summit before stopping in to check out Rob Sanchez and his ‘ohana on the launching of the McGruff program. Dickie Chang did a great job emcee-ing the event and even got one of Rachel Wilson’s daughter registered.
Darla Abbatiello-Higa (she was so thrilled to meet Lt. Gov. James ‘Duke’ Aiona that she kept asking if she was red) said it started raining in Kapa‘a so she joined her compads at the Sanchez gig.
Happy 30th birthday, McGruff! Best wishes for another 30 years, and more!
